It is a mixture of technology, biology and electronics. This can be an effective way of effectively treating nervous system (nervous system) injuries.
Connecting the mind to the computer is often seen in science fiction based films. But an international team of engineers and neuroscientists from the University of Sheffield (UK), St Petersburg State University (Russia) and Technische Universität Sasden (Germany) have made this possible in reality. The team has worked to bring 3D printing technology closer to actual use. In this new study published in Nature Biomedical Engineering, scientists led by UK Professor Ivan Mynev and Professor Pavel Musienko of Russia have developed a prototype neural implant that is a mixture of technology, biology and electronics. This can be an effective method of effectively treating Nervous System injuries.
Test was successful in animals
Prototype neural implants have previously been used to treat spinal cord injuries in animals. Scientists are now developing and using this technique to treat diseases associated with the human nervous system, such as paralysis, Parkinson’s and psychiatrists. Researchers also showed that they can also communicate with brains and nerves via 3D printer neural implants. This neural implant technique can understand and supply small electrical impulses in the brain and nervous system as well as supply them.
Atal Tunnel: Shape is like horseshoe, will be connected even in heavy snowfall
This is how this technique works
The team has shown how 3D printing can be used to make prototype implants more rapid and effective to heal injuries and illnesses associated with the nervous system. Specific areas of the nervous system and brain problems can be overcome using this technique. Using this new technology the team’s neuroscientists create a design that the engineering team can transform into a computer model that instructs 3D printers.
The printer then creates a flexible mechanical and biochemical material palette to complete this design. Any change in design can also be done immediately. This may give neuroscientists a faster and cheaper way to treat possible paralysis, Parkinson’s and psychiatric conditions. Not only this, but it is also a very cheap and accurate method.
