The world’s second tallest person is in trouble these days. He is in London Care Home and is battling a serious illness. Hussein Bisad, 46, came into the limelight in 2002 when he claimed that he was the ‘tallest person in the world’. However, when Guinness World Records investigated it, it was found that his height is 7 feet 5 inches which is less than Sultan Kosen of Turkey, who is 8 feet 2 inches tall.
According to the report of MyLondon, he has been battling a deadly disease for the last five years, in which he has to undergo dialysis three times every day. He has been living at a care home in Brent, North London, since a kidney transplant in February 2020. Doctors say that ‘Pituitary Giantism’ is responsible for his condition which produces more growth hormone than normal.
don’t like to be tall
Hussain says that he does not like to be tall at all because due to this he has to face many problems like standing out in the crowd. He says, ‘Everyone is normal but I am different. Everyone looks at me. Many times people ask me why am I so tall? I also ask Allah why am I so tall?’
He explains that his friends call him a ‘monster’ and make fun of his height. Hussain has to get his clothes made separately, with a suit costing around £700. He wears a shoe number 22 on his feet which is not available in the shops and he has to get it ordered from outside. Apart from all this, Hussain cannot even lie on a normal bed. Amidst all these problems, he is very optimistic about the future. He wants to go to Somalia after his full recovery from the disease, from where he wants to bring his wife Yasmin with him to London so that she can live with them. Please tell that the length of Yasmin is also 6 feet.
The teacher asked- are you Hussain?
Hussain’s height was normal till he reached the second grade. Talking to MyLondon, Hussain said that when he was in the first grade, his height was normal like the rest of the children, but after coming to the second grade, it started increasing rapidly. His headteacher said to him, ‘Are you a sure Hussain?’ He sent Hussain back home and asked his father to call him to school. Hussain came home and went to school with his father.
Hussain says, ‘When I was in second grade, my teacher and my teacher were of equal height and they used to ask me if I am Hussain’. He told, ‘I was six-seven years old. My chair was bigger than the others, my table was bigger, everything had changed. By the age of six, Hussain was taller than his teachers.
