The risk of Coronavirus remains worldwide and this virus is spreading its foot fast. Meanwhile, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has said that the epidemic may take a long time to end. So far, more than 13,65,00,400 people have been infected worldwide in the first case of coronavirus that surfaced in Wuhan city of China in December 2019. At the same time, more than 29 lakh people have died due to infection. The WHO chief said, “We saw six consecutive weeks in January and February, when there was a drop in cases.” Now we have seen seven such weeks, when the cases are increasing. The number of dead has also increased in the last four weeks.
Life can be saved by adopting measures to avoid corona
The WHO chief said that Corona had the fourth highest number of cases reported within a week last week. He said that many countries of Asia and Middle East are seeing an increase in infection again. Talking to reports in Geneva, Ghebreyes said that so far more than 78 crore people have been vaccinated worldwide. The vaccine is a powerful tool, but it is not the only tool. Measures like social distancing, wearing masks, sanitizing hands, testing, contact tracing, isolation can save millions of lives.
Corona is not a common flu, take precautions
Ghebreyes expressed concern that people are losing their lives due to confusion, decency and inconsistency in public health measures. He warned that this disease is not the common flu, which is cured on its own. Young people have also died from coronavirus. We are not fully aware of the long-term consequences of people recovering from this virus. Some people are assuming that they are young, so they will not get the infection, which is wrong.
