A similar case has also come up from the African country of Zambia. Here a TV journalist has alleged in a live show that he and his co-workers are not being paid salaries. Kalimina Kabinda was telling breaking news on KBN TV in Zambia on June 19, when she stopped in the middle and talked about not getting the money.
He said, ‘Apart from the news, ladies and gentlemen, we are also human beings. We should be paid too. Unfortunately, we are not being paid on KBN TV.’ He further told that even his colleagues are not getting salary (Journalist Video on Salary). Kabinda said, ‘Along with me, other people are also not being paid. We are not being given money. Along with this, he has also posted this video on his Facebook account.
‘Journalists are afraid to raise their voice’
In its caption, Kabinda writes, ‘Yes I have done that on live TV, just because many journalists are afraid to raise their voice, it does not mean that journalists should not speak.’ KBN TV Journalis CEO Kennedy Mbwe issued a statement on the channel’s Facebook page, alleging that the journalist was intoxicated during the broadcast. However, he has not said anything on the allegations of non-payment of salaries to the staff.

Mambawe has said, ‘As KBN TV, we are surprised to see a journalist appearing in a video quip in the nation. Which went viral on social media (Social Media Viral Clip) during the major news bulletin last night. In which our part time presenter is seen. However, Kabinda has not said anything on Mbwe’s statements. But in another post, he has given a list of his works done on this day, which shows that he cannot be in nation. Mambawe has spoken of an inquiry into the matter and disciplinary action will be taken against Kabinda.
