Pakistani Hospitals Run Out of Coronavirus Vaccine: Coronavirus Vaccine has ended in three major hospitals located in Lahore, Pakistan. This is because a large number of people were reaching here to take vaccine doses. Mayo Hospital, Services Hospital and Jinnah Hospital are the healthcare centers where the vaccine has ended. Hospital administration says that the problem of vaccine has increased so much that they are not able to give vaccine even to the health workers.
He said that the vaccine ended on Tuesday itself. A large number of people have been vaccinated. Because of which they are finished. The hospital administration has hoped that they will get more vaccines soon. The hospital says that Pakistan is about to receive the third consignment of Sinopharm Vaccine, due to which the vaccine can be delivered to hospitals soon. Vaccination Drive in Pakistan started on 2 February in Pakistan. At present, vaccines are being given to the health workers of the country and people above 60 years of age.
Hope to get vaccine from China
Pakistan is using the Sinofarm vaccine, which has been developed by the China National Pharmaceutical Group of China. This vaccine has been reported to be up to 79 percent effective against the corona virus. Last week, it was reported that Pakistan had ordered a single dose vaccine, after which it could get the first shipment of vaccine from Chinese company, Kansino Bio, this week.
CovaX will also get the vaccine
Apart from getting the vaccine from China, Pakistan will also get the vaccine from COVAX. COVAX is an initiative of the World Health Organization, through which vaccines are being provided to the world’s poor and middle-income countries. Pakistan will also get 17,160,000 doses of COVID vaccine under this initiative (COVAX). Coronavirus cases are rising once again in Pakistan. This country is facing the third wave of infection. Due to which the lockdown has been imposed in seven cities recently. Apart from this, educational institutions in badly affected areas have been closed for two weeks.
