Tensions between the US and Iran have been seen once again in the Persian Gulf. At the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf Hormuz, a group of 13 Iranian boats were moving towards the ship of the US Navy. During this time, the US Coast Guard fired two rounds, warning Iranian boats. The Pentagon has called this action by the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps unsafe and irresponsible.
This is the second time in two weeks that American ships have opened fire warning the ships of the Iranian Paramilitary Revolutionary Guard. This confrontation between the two countries in the Persian Gulf is taking place at a time when negotiations are going on in Vienna about the backdoor nuclear deal in 2015. Former US President Donald Trump pulled the US out of the deal in 2018 and banned Iran again. At the same time, Iran also increased the enrichment of uranium by the prescribed limit, in violation of the rules of nuclear deal in retaliation.
What did the Pentagon say on Iranian action?
At the same time, when Pentagon press secretary John Kirby was asked whether the Revolutionary Guards wanted to have a fight with the US Navy? Kirby refused to comment on this and said that the sad thing is that doing this by the Revolutionary Guards is not new. This is something for which all our commanding officers and crew members deployed on the ship have been trended. He said that this is such an action, due to which one can get injured someday. This may cause serious problems in the area someday and it will be of no use to anyone.
American and Iranian ships also came face to face on 26 April
Earlier, on April 26, during the course of patrolling in the Persian Gulf, ships of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards came very close to the American fleet. After this, bullets were fired warning the American ship. This was the first incident of such firing in the last four years. The Navy had released black-and-white footage of the encounter in international waters. Please tell that the Persian Gulf extends to Kuwait, Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. The US Navy continues to patrol here.
