US President Joe Biden on Friday nominated Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti as the US Ambassador to India. The White House gave this information by issuing a statement. Garcetti, 50, will succeed the current ambassador, Kenneth Juster, after approval from the Senate, the upper house of the US parliament.
Juster was appointed as the US Ambassador to India during the time of former President Donald Trump. Earlier this week, Juster was appointed as a Distinguished Fellow on the Council on Foreign Relations. Announcing his nomination along with several other ambassadors, the White House said that Eric M. Garcetti has been mayor of the city of Los Angeles since 2013 and has a wonderful experience.

Eric also currently has the responsibility of the Los Angeles Metro. In fact, the Los Angeles Metro is the second largest power line in America. Not only this, Eric is also the chief of C40. Los Angeles Mayor Eric White House has also been an intelligence officer, serving as a US Navy Reserve component for 12 years. Eric has also worked on human rights issues in Southeast Asia and North East Africa. Eric tweeted, “Today the President has nominated me to serve as the US Ambassador to India. Announcement of the US Ambassador to Germany
Earlier, US President Joe Biden announced that he was nominating Amy Gutmann, president of the University of Pennsylvania, as the US ambassador to Germany. Gutman has served as president of the Ivy League University in Philadelphia since 2004, where Biden founded a foreign policy center after being vice president. She will be the first US ambassador to be nominated to the Group of Seven countries. Her nomination has been announced two weeks before German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s visit to the White House.
