AstraZeneca Vaccine Issue: Oxford AstraZeneca’s COVID Vaccine has been the most talked about ever since the worldwide vaccination campaign to prevent the Coronavirus Pandemic. These days there is a lot of ruckus about this vaccine. Many European Union countries have temporarily banned the use of the vaccine. They say that they are doing this as a rescue measure. The World Health Organization, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and AstraZeneca itself have also given statements in the case. So let’s know what the whole issue is.
A few days ago several countries in Europe, including Denmark, Ireland and Thailand, had temporarily banned the use of the vaccine (AstraZeneca Vaccine Banned Countries). He received many such cases, in which patients had come to complain of blood clotting after taking the vaccine. However, there is no such evidence, which can prove that the problem of blood clotting occurred only after taking the vaccine dose. The World Health Organization and the European Medicines Agency said that the data did not suggest that the vaccine caused a clotting problem. He said that people should continue to apply the vaccine.
How did the dispute start?
Denmark is the first country in Europe (AstraZeneca Vaccine Ban in Denmark) to first stop using the vaccine. There were cases of blood clotting in many people. One person died 10 days after taking the vaccine dose, he had a problem of blood clotting. Health officials here asked to ban the use of the vaccine for at least two weeks, as well as an inquiry into the matter. He also noted that ‘at present it cannot be said clearly whether there is a connection between vaccine and blood clotting.’ Later again, Bulgaria, Iceland, Thailand, Norway and Congo also took this kind of step.
Reduced blood platelets cases in Norway
On Saturday, four people under the age of 50 who took AstraZeneca vaccine in Norway were also found to have low blood platelets. Which can cause severe bleeding (bleeding). Then on Sunday, Ireland and the Netherlands announced that they too are putting a temporary ban on the use of the vaccine (AstraZeneca Vaccine and Blood Clots). Officials in the Netherlands categorically stated that they are taking this decision as a strict rescue measure. Then on this Monday, three big countries of Europe, Germany, Italy and France also banned the vaccine. After this, Spain, Portugal and Slovenia also joined this race. However, this vaccine is still being given to people in many countries, including the name of India.
What is blood clotting and how dangerous?
Blood clotting is also called blood clotting. You may have felt this way when the blood settles like a crust after being choke on any part of the body, it stops the blood from flowing (Blood Clotting Disorder). It is also called thrombosis. Blood clotting is necessary in the event of injury or cut. But if this clotting starts in the body, then blood clotting can prove to be dangerous. There is also a risk of life from it. It is generally believed that there is no harm to the body due to blood clotting, but when it starts spreading from one place to another and after breaking, it can stop the flow of blood through the veins to the heart or lungs. Clotting can also occur in the brain, lungs, arms and pelvis.
What did AstraZeneca say?
When several countries prohibited the use of the vaccine, AstraZeneca said that it has carefully reviewed the data of 1.70 crore people in Europe who took the vaccine. He said, ‘No evidence has been found in any country, any gender or age group that suggests the risk of blood clotting.’ Significantly, this vaccine has been developed by Oxford University of Britain and pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca (AstraZeneca Vaccine From Which Country). In India, the vaccine is being made under the Serum Institute of India (SII) license located in Pune.
What did the WHO and the European Union say?
The World Health Organization (WHO on AstraZeneca Issue), the European Medicines Agency of the European Union and regulators in many countries have said that people should continue to vaccinate. They say that not applying the vaccine can be more harmful. Because the risk of corona virus is increasing once again in countries across the world. In such a situation, it is not right to ban the use of vaccine to avoid danger. The UK drug regulator said, “People’s safety will always be primary. People should still go ahead and take their COVID 19 vaccine when asked. It is not clear even among the people who have died that it has been caused by the vaccine or they already had a disease.
What was found in the investigation?
After receiving so many complaints, the European Medicines Agency on AstraZeneca reviewed and said that the vaccine is absolutely ‘safe and effective’. Also said that there is no risk of blood clotting from the vaccine. After this announcement of the EMA, most European countries said that they would soon start using the vaccine again. These countries include Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovenia and Bulgaria.
