Ukrainian particular forces working inside Russian-occupied Crimea have been behind an assault on a army base there, Sky News understands.
Russia’s defence ministry mentioned {that a} hearth broke out after a number of explosions at a brief ammunition storage facility within the Dzhankoi space of north Crimea at round 4.15am BST (6.15am native time).

Sky News understands that the strikes have been the work of Ukrainian particular forces working contained in the territory, which was annexed by Russia in 2014.
It comes after Russia accused Ukrainian “saboteurs” of finishing up the assault.
Sky News correspondent in Odesa, Alistair Bunkall, mentioned: “I think what is clear is there is at least one – if not two – Ukrainian special forces groups operating with Ukraine sympathisers in Crimea to disrupt Russian operations.”
