Twenty-one folks have been arrested after Just Stop Oil protesters blocked site visitors on the A4 in central London.
Members of the group took up positions throughout Cromwell Road, close to Exhibition Road, near the Natural History and V&A museums.
Just Stop Oil continues to demand the federal government “halts all new oil and gas licences and consents”.
Cromwell Road is a serious route via Kensington and connects different areas similar to Hammersmith and Westminster.
Just Stop Oil stated its supporters had “disrupted traffic by sitting in the road with banners” and that some had “glued” themselves to the the tarmac – with others adopting “lock-ons”.
Police stated 17 folks had been arrested on the scene and 4 others close by. The roads reopened at about 10.15am.
It comes after the disruption to the Dartford Crossing earlier this week when two protesters connected themselves to the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge greater than 60m (200ft) above the River Thames.
The two males accountable had been eliminated and arrested on Tuesday.
Supporters of the group additionally threw tomato soup over Van Gogh’s Sunflowers final week.
Just Stop Oil launched a press release by one of many protesters at Cromwell Road, Sheila Shatford, a 67-year-old former nurse from Bristol, who stated: “We are so short of time now that non-violent civil disobedience seems the only option.
“It’s onerous to be ridiculed and reviled by folks when I’m sitting on a street however I do know that I’ve to do it.
“This isn’t for me, this is for those without a voice and future generations.
