The traffic jam was once again on Tuesday in the Suez Canal in Egypt. However, this jam was only for a short time, but it increased the concerns of the officials. This incident happened at a time when two weeks ago a huge cargo ship caught itself in this sea route. Due to this, the road connecting Europe to Asia was closed. Due to this, the global economy facing Corona suffered a loss of billions of rupees.
According to an email from the Inchep shipping service, an oil tanker named Rumford jammed the Suez Canal for a while after being trapped. After this, small boats were sent to take it out, who successfully drove it out and the way of the canal was cleared. The power of this tanker was stopped, due to which it stopped in the middle. Please tell that on 23 March, the 400 meter long Evergivan cargo ship got stuck in the Suez Canal. Due to this, a large number of ships were opened on both sides of the canal. A week later it was successfully pulled out of the canal.
Suez canal accounts for 12 per cent of business
Hundreds of freight vessels were seen waiting after Evergivan was trapped in the canal. The jam once again on Tuesday has shown that when the control of the canal is out of the hands of the Egyptian authorities, there is a danger of obstructing the traffic on this route. 12% of the world’s trade is done through the Suez Canal. This canal reduces the sea distance between Asia and Europe by two weeks.
Giant ship is being investigated for getting trapped
At the same time, Syed Shehsa, the advisor of ‘Suez Canal Authority, said last week that an investigation into Evergivan ship getting stuck in the canal has been started and the results will be made public, as this is a global problem. He said that the black box of the ship would be demanded so that it could be ascertained whether the authority had properly responded to the instructions before it got stuck. The black box has all the information from the beginning to the end of the crisis. It will also be investigated how the response was made during the crisis.
There will be an agreement on compensation with the ship
Syed Shehsa said that in three to four days an agreement will be made with the ship on compensation. At the same time, it has been said that if the ship tries to get rid of the investigation, it will be taken to the court. The decision to seize the ship can also be taken. Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi urged people not to jump to conclusions about the investigation. He said that the issue has been left to the canal authority and he will not interfere in it.
