    A robust twister overturned vehicles, broken properties and snapped tree branches in Florida as an intense storm system introduced rain and powerful winds to the US state over the weekend.

    The twister hit late on Saturday afternoon with winds of 100mph close to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Centre, in Palm Beach, and headed northeast in direction of the coast, in line with the National Weather Service.

    Authorities within the coastal metropolis have been pressured to shut main roads as employees cleared particles and inspected wreckage because of the storm injury.

    Pictures from the scene present vehicles flipped over on prime of one another, cracked tree limbs resting on autos and houses, in addition to different particles littering streets.

    The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department didn’t report any main accidents or deaths.

    Officials have deactivated emergency protocols and labored via lingering points on Sunday, a spokeswoman for the town mentioned.

    The National Weather Service positioned a big space of central Florida below a twister watch on Saturday afternoon as thunderstorms have been chopping throughout the state.

    Elsewhere within the US, a state of emergency was declared within the metropolis of Virginia Beach on Sunday after a twister swept via the realm and broken dozens of properties, downed bushes and brought about gasoline leaks.

    It was unclear what number of properties had been broken, however metropolis officers estimated between 50 and 100 after the storm touched down at round 6pm on Sunday.

    City supervisor Patrick Duhaney declared a state of emergency on Sunday night time, although there have been no instant reviews of accidents.

    Virginia Natural Gas responded to a number of properties with gasoline leaks, whereas Dominion Energy reported just below 1,000 outages early on Monday.
