As US-NATO troops are returning to their country from Afghanistan, the Taliban is spreading its legs. In such a situation, the situations that are being created have put the future of thousands of Indians settled in Afghanistan in danger.

American troops are withdrawing from Afghanistan. Along with this, the armies of many other countries are also leaving Afghanistan and returning. As foreign troops are stepping back from the war, the terrorist organization Taliban is spreading its feet in Afghanistan. The kind of incidents that are coming out of Afghanistan for some time, have worried not only India but every country whose citizens are settled in Afghanistan.
According to the BBC report, an Indian man living in Afghanistan told that he keeps shoes, clothes, passport, some money and necessary papers in a bag while sleeping at night because he is afraid that anything can happen here and He may have to run away at any time. The Taliban have captured dozens of areas of Afghanistan and are claiming that the Afghan army has succumbed to them in these areas. However, the Afghan army is talking about taking back some districts under its control.
US general expressed fear of civil war
Many foreign soldiers including Germany, Poland are no longer in Afghanistan. In such a situation, the Afghan security force has to deal with the Taliban alone, which is very difficult. A US report has already warned that the Afghan government will fall only months after the withdrawal of troops. Earlier it was being said that American troops would return by September 11, but now reports are claiming that within ‘a few days’ the US Army will return to their country.
In Kabul, US General Austin S Miller has expressed fears that a civil war could break out in Afghanistan. He has said that the current situation can increase the possibility of civil war. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, president of the Afghanistan High Council for National Reconciliation, says that Afghan leaders must unite to protect civilians. He said that he wants peace but the war is slowly coming closer to him.
Indian Embassy issued guidelines
According to the report, common citizens are collecting weapons in their homes so that they can protect their families if the situation worsens. The Indian Embassy in Kabul has already issued a security advisory for Indians, who are facing a security crisis. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has said in the advisory issued for 1700 Indians of Afghanistan that-
Indians living in Afghanistan should not leave the house for non-essential work.
Don’t go to main cities. If you want to go somewhere then travel by air because highways are not safe.
Indian citizens are at risk of being kidnapped.

Fear and insecurity all around
The BBC report quoted an Indian national working in Afghanistan as saying that military activities in Afghanistan have decreased in the last few days. He told that the situation is very bad. He always sleeps with some things like clothes, passport, money in a bag so that he can run away whenever needed. The Indian Embassy keeps on issuing guidelines for the safety of the Indian people.
In the report, Nitin, who has traveled abroad to propagate the ideas of Mahatma Gandhi, who has reached Afghanistan, says that the situation in Afghanistan is deteriorating. During the journey people would tell him, ‘Don’t roam here, there is a lot of danger here.’ The Taliban is spreading its feet very fast. When Nitin was in Kabul, a van was targeted in which one of his associates was killed. They tell that people just want to get out of Afghanistan somehow.
If someone has mistook Pakistani..
Nitin met Indian Embassy officials in Kabul. He says that the picture of the embassy has completely changed. Now it feels like a prison. The officers did not come out due to fear and were not advising me to go out. There is only an atmosphere of fear, frenzy and insecurity all around. Another fear growing rapidly among the Indians of Afghanistan is the fear of being considered Pakistani. Afghans treat Indians very well but hate Pakistanis a lot. Here when you speak Hindi, you will either be understood from Pakistan or from India. The atmosphere is such that most people will think of you as Pakistani because Pakistanis often hide their identity. Talking to BBC, Nitin told.
The future of Afghanistan imprisoned in the aftermath of 9/11
When Nitin went to the 501-year-old Gurdwara in Jalalabad, people there did not even talk to him because they thought him to be a Pakistani. All these circumstances have put a question mark on the future of Indians working in Afghanistan. The Taliban has issued a statement saying that it will not harm foreign citizens in any way, but we have seen many examples in history of how much we should trust the words of the Taliban. 9/11 is a dark day in American history. By 9/11 this year, American soldiers will return completely, handing the future of Afghanistan into the hands of its citizens. The question is also whether India can take the responsibility of security of this area? In the coming time, only the dates after 9/11 will decide what will be the future of Afghanistan and how it will affect the world.
