NASA has warned that after 2030, these ‘catastrophic floods’ will show their effect several times in a row and will affect life around the world.

Climate change is believed to be responsible for sudden weather changes on Earth, due to which many countries especially America face the problem of flood. Global warming and climate change are responsible for these events, but now in a new study, these seasonal events have been linked with Earth’s neighboring Moon.
A study conducted by the US space agency NASA has claimed that a ‘vibration’ of the Moon’s orbit combined with the rise in sea level due to climate change can cause devastating floods on Earth. The study was published on June 21 in the journal Nature Climate Change.
There will be continuous floods after 2030
In coastal areas it is called ‘catastrophic flood’ when the tide reaches about 2 feet above the daily average high tide. These floods cause a lot of damage to businesses as water often seeps into roads and homes, affecting daily life. According to a NASA study, these ‘catastrophic floods’ will affect life continuously and irregularly by the mid-2030s.
Most US coastlines will see a three to fourfold increase in high tide for at least a decade, according to the study. The report warns that this flood will not affect the whole year, but will show its effect on a large scale in a few months. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said that the low-lying areas near the sea level are most at risk due to increasing flooding, the danger will increase further in the coming times.
Moon’s vibration with sea level is dangerous
The Moon’s gravity, rising sea levels and climate change together will continue to increase coastal flooding on our coastlines around the world, he said. Explaining the Moon’s effect on flooding, study lead author Phil Thompson, an assistant professor at the University of Hawaii, said it takes 18.6 years to complete a rotation in the Moon’s orbit. He said that it is dangerous to associate the vibrations of the Moon with the rising sea level due to the increasing heat on the Earth.
