318 oxygen concentrator sent from US in Air India aircraft
An Air India aircraft has departed from New York Airport with 318 oxygen concentrators for Delhi. US President Joe Biden has said in a statement issued on his Twitter that last year India had helped America, now it is our turn to help India. Earlier, the National Security Advisor of the two countries spoke on the telephone.
In a conversation with NSA Ajit Doval, the American NSA said that the US will support India in this crisis. The biggest achievement of the talks of the two NSAs was that the US administration agreed to give the raw materials needed to make the vaccine in India, which was banned by the US.
NSA talks of both countries opened the way
For the last two days, there was a demand from different sections of America that America should help India. Many US lawmakers and big personalities also appealed for this. India’s ambassador to the United States was also talking to the Biden administration. Negotiations between the NSAs of the two countries opened the doors to American help.
Apart from America, India has also started getting help from all over the world. First, 250 oxygen concentrators including 4 cryogenic tankers were brought from a special Indian Air Force helicopter from Singapore. The Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, the Indian Foreign Minister S.K. Talked to Jaishankar and sent 7 empty tankers of oxygen to India. The Burj Khalifa of Dubai was shown in the tricolor as a message of standing with India.
Countries come forward to help India
The UK announced the sending of 600 medical equipment comprising oxygen concentrators, including 120 ventilators. 800 oxygen concentrators have been sourced from Hong Kong. Saudi Arabia sent 80 metric tons of oxygen. Russia has said to provide Remedisvir and other help. 23 mobile oxygen plants are being brought from Germany.
France, European Union, Canada and Australia have also extended their help. The PM of Japan spoke to PM Modi on Monday and assured India of all possible help in this hour of crisis. Google and Microsoft chief Indian origin Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella have also announced to help India.
Government of India is constantly in touch
The Indian government is constantly in touch with countries around the world. While NSA Ajit Doval took the initiative in getting American help, the Foreign Minister and Prime Minister are also in talks with leaders of different countries. According to foreign policy experts, in the last one year, the way India has brought vaccines to about 100 countries from the hydroxychloroquine to the Vaccine Friendship Program, the result of this is that today the world is also standing with India in this disaster.
