It is being constructed for 92 poor countries of the world. A few days ago, in view of the increasing cases of Corona, its exports were banned. Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said on Friday that India has not imposed any restrictions on the export of the corona vaccine. Also said that till now India has provided the vaccine in more than 80 countries around the world.
The deal was done a year ago
A year ago, the Jenner Institute at Oxford University announced that they could grant the right to manufacture the AstraZeneca vaccine to any vaccine manufacturer anywhere. Subsequently, the Serum Institute of India (which is the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer) entered into an agreement and got the license to manufacture the vaccine.
A month later, at the behest of the Gates Foundation, Oxford University signed an agreement with the multinational pharma group AstraZeneca, after which the Serum Institute also had to sign a new deal with the pharma company. Under the New Deal, the Serum Institute was entrusted with the responsibility of manufacturing vaccines for poor countries under the GAVI vaccine treaty. It includes 92 poor countries of the world.
50 percent used for home immunization
