Taliban law in force in Afghanistan – symbolic picture
Talibani Law in Afghanistan: Ever since the US announced the withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan, Taliban attacks have suddenly increased. The Taliban says that it has captured 80 percent of the districts of Afghanistan (Afghanistan Current Situation). The Taliban is continuously increasing its strength. With the increase in its power in Afghanistan, the cruel laws related to it have also returned. The Taliban has issued new orders for the people of Takhar Province, located in the northeast of the country.
Women living in this province have been asked not to leave the house alone and men have been ordered to grow beards. Pakistani newspaper The News quoted human rights activists as saying that the Taliban has also implemented new laws related to dowry of girls (Taliban in Afghanistan). Mirajuddin Sharifi, a social worker who lives in Takhar, says, “The Taliban have asked women not to leave the house alone without the help of men.” He told that the Taliban is insisting on a trial without evidence.
Food prices rise
The Takhar Provincial Committee said that the prices of food items have also increased in the places where the Taliban are occupied. The governor of Takhar province, Abdullah Karluk, said people were facing a lot of trouble under Taliban control. They are not getting any kind of service (Taliban Law in Afghanistan). Hospitals and schools are closed. Karluk said Taliban fighters had damaged several government buildings. All types of services have been banned in these areas.
Taliban rejects claims
The governor said, ‘The Taliban are looting everything and there is no service here.’ Local people are saying that this kind of situation is unacceptable in the state. An operation should be launched to wipe out the Talibanis. The Taliban, on the other hand, have rejected these claims and called it propaganda run against them (Taliban Rules in Afghanistan). Fighting continues between Taliban fighters and Afghan security forces in the country’s Herat, Kapisa, Takhar, Balkh, Parwan and Baglan provinces. Afghanistan’s Defense Ministry says 250 Taliban fighters have been killed within 10 provinces in the past 24 hours.
