Pakistan’s Planning Minister Asad Umar said on Friday that the fourth wave of the COVID-19 epidemic in Pakistan was ‘obvious’ due to non-adherence to standard operating procedures and the spread of the delta form of the corona virus. Early signs’ are starting to appear. Umar, who heads the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) to deal with COVID-19, said that the ground report shows complete disregard for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The report warned that ignoring the rules would force the government to close wedding halls, indoor restaurants and gyms. He said in the tweet, ‘Two weeks ago, I tweeted that our artificial intelligence models are showing the possible emergence of the fourth wave. Now there are clear early signs of the onset of the fourth wave.
2 weeks back I had tweeted that our artifical intelligence models are showing possible emergence of 4th wave. Now there are clear early signs of 4th wave starting. Poor sop compliance, coupled with spread of variants of concern, indian variant in particular, are the main cause.

Field reports are showing complete disregard of the condition of vaccination for those attending indoor weddings and going to indoor restaurants & gyms. If the owners of these facilities do not show responsibility & ensure compliance, there will be no choice but to shut them down

People’s negligence is the reason for the fourth wave
He cited the negligence of people in SOP compliance and the spread of forms of COVID-19, including the delta, as the reasons for the fourth wave in Pakistan. The NCOC has already confirmed the presence of various forms of the coronavirus in Pakistan, including the delta form, the beta form found in South Africa and the alpha form found in the UK.
Meanwhile, 1,737 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Pakistan in the last 24 hours. Earlier on June 4, the maximum number of 1,923 cases were reported. A day earlier, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had also urged the public to strictly follow the government’s mandatory COVID-19 SOP on Eid-ul-Adha to prevent the virus from spreading. He warned the countrymen about the dangers of the Delta variant.
Positivity rate more than 3 percent
In his address, Imran Khan had said that in view of the current situation in countries like Afghanistan, where there is a severe shortage of oxygen, I would like to say a few things to the country. The warning of the head of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) comes after the positivity rate in the country was reported to be more than 3 percent for three consecutive days.
