    MOSCOW (AP) — A Russian courtroom on Tuesday prolonged the arrest of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich by three months, Russian information businesses reported.

    Gershkovich, an American citizen, was ordered held till Aug. 30. He had been arrested in March on espionage fees on a reporting journey in Russia. He, his employer and the U.S. authorities have denied the fees.

    Tuesday’s courtroom listening to wasn’t introduced upfront, and your complete case has been wrapped in secrecy.

    Russian authorities haven’t detailed what — if any — proof they’ve gathered to assist the espionage fees. Various authorized proceedings have been closed to the media, and no particulars instantly emerged about whether or not Gershkovich or U.S. Embassy representatives attended Tuesday’s listening to or what was mentioned. Tass mentioned the session was closed as a result of the reporter was accused of possession of “secret materials.”

    Gershkovich is the primary U.S. correspondent because the Cold War to be detained in Russia on spying fees, and his arrest rattled journalists within the nation and drew outrage within the West.

    The U.S. authorities has declared Gershkovich to be “wrongfully detained” and demanded his quick launch. He’s being held in Moscow’s Lefortovo jail.
