Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachand’, the head of Nepal’s NCP-Maoist Center (MC), has proposed to remove the ‘Maoist Center’ to make the party acceptable to communist forces in the country. Because such powers do not like Maoism. Such reports came in the media on Monday. According to the news of ‘Himalayan Times’, Shiv Kumar Mandal, a member of the NCP-Maoist Center, said that former Prime Minister Prachanda has always been in favor of solidarity among all the communist powers of the country and suggested that if in the name of the party Removing the ‘Maoist Center’ can help these powers to unite, then the party is ready for that.
The proposal to change the name of the party has come at a time when the NCP-Maoist Center is in a bit of trouble because the Supreme Court has rejected the merger of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s NCP-AMale into the NCP-Maoist Center. This created a situation where Prime Minister Oli sees his position in the party as being strong. He has a clear majority in the Central Committee and the Parliamentary Party.
Nepal Communist Party merged in 2018
According to the news, Madhav Kumar Nepal, leader of the Nepal faction of the NCP-Emaal and Jhalanath Khanal, who had joined hands with Prachanda in demanding Oli’s resignation from the post of Prime Minister, are now finding their position weak. The two parties merged together as the Nepal Communist Party in May 2018, following the victory of the alliance of the NCP-Amale and the NCP-Maoist Center in the 2017 general election.
In December, the ruling NCP split after Oli’s move to dissolve the 275-member House of Representatives. In its historic judgment, the top court restored the lower house of Parliament. Nepal’s Election Commission on Tuesday told the NCP-Amale and the NCP-Maoist Center that if they decide to merge again after the Supreme Court rejected the merger decision, they will be renamed with the new name and election mark Will have to come to the fore.
Prachanda said resigning and come out of government
However, the political confrontation between the two parties increased further when Prachanda on Sunday for the second time asked his ministers to collectively resign and come out of the Oli government. Mandal said that there are many communist powers in the world who believe that the principles of Marx and Lenin are the real principles of communism and the Maoist center can be a distraction for those who want to merge their parties with this faction.
According to the news, Mandal said that our party had developed ‘Prachandapath’ as its political principle of Nepal but Prachanda was ready to leave Prachandapath when our party signed a unity deal with the communist organization led by Narayan Qazi Shrestha. Because the bet was placed by the best faction.
