PM Modi Bangladesh Visit: During this week’s summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina, issues mainly on connectivity, commercial matters, water management, security and border management will be discussed. During this time he will attend the 50th Independence Day of Bangladesh and the centenary celebrations of its founder Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. During the visit, Modi will hold talks with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. During this period, a number of MoUs related to various fields are also expected to be signed by both the parties. According to the news of the ‘First Niche’ newspaper, ‘Bangladesh wants to increase connectivity with India to increase trade and commerce. In this perspective, Bangladesh will emphasize contacts and commercial matters during the upcoming summit.
Bangladesh expressed gratitude
While thanking India for the announcement of the Gandhi Peace Prize 2020 being awarded to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (Bangladesh Peace Prize 2020), Bangladesh said that it is an ‘appropriate honor’ for the ever-deepening relationship between the two countries ( India Bangladesh Relations). The Ministry of Culture of India announced on Monday the award of the Gandhi Peace Prize of 2020 to the President of Bangladesh and the first President, Rahman.

Bangladesh Foreign Ministry said in a press release that Sheikh expresses deep gratitude to the Government of India for posthumously awarding the Gandhi Peace Prize to Mujibur Rahman. It said that this prestigious award is a matter of honor for Bangladesh and its people. The ministry said that this honor has ‘great importance’ on Bangladesh’s 50th Independence Day. It said, “The award is a fitting honor for the ever-deepening relationship between India and Bangladesh at a time when both countries are celebrating the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence and diplomatic relations and the birth centenary year of Bangabandhu.”
