Massive protests have continued in Myanmar since the military coup, after which the military government has been using violent methods to suppress people’s voices. People are being shot directly on the head and they are being beaten up. After which now the dam of the patience of the people has also been broken.
In response to the military’s deadly action, protesters also retaliated on Wednesday by slapping the security forces with a slingshot and throwing Molotov cocktails. According to the press and social media posts, two people have died after being shot during a demonstration in northwest Myanmar on Wednesday.
According to data collected by the independent organization ‘Assistance Association for Political Prisoners’, the army since the military coup on February 1 to overthrow the elected civilian government of Aung San Suu Kyi. The confirmed number of protesters killed in action now exceeds 200.
The organization alleged that the junta forces are targeting not only the protesters but also the general public. He said, “Some of the injured were arrested and died due to lack of medical facilities, some died due to harassment during interrogation.”
The organization said, “Some of the others died of bullet injuries during the operation, their bodies were dragged away and the junta forces have not handed over the dead bodies to their families (Myanmar Protests Reason).” The organization said that 202 people died till Tuesday, 2,181 people were arrested or charged.
According to local media organizations and social media posts, peaceful demonstrations took place on Wednesday in Taungu, Thayet, Myingyan and Madaya in central Myanmar, Tamu near the border with India and in the city of Paiya, on the banks of the Irrawaddy River northwest of Yangon.
The police also took deadly action on the crowd of protesters on Tuesday (Myanmar Protests). The protesters demand that they will continue their protest till democracy is restored in the country and the arrested leaders are not released.
