Pakistan has recalled its ambassadors and six other officials present in Saudi Arabia. Actually, complaints were lodged against these officials by the Pakistani community living in the Kingdom. On Thursday, the Pakistani Foreign Office gave this information in a statement. It said that the six officers who had been ordered to recall work in the diplomatic, community welfare and consular wing of the embassy.
Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhary said in the weekly briefing that the government of Pakistan has high importance for the welfare of foreign Pakistanis. These Pakistanis are the biggest asset of the country and their role in national development is inevitable. He said, Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered an inquiry regarding the embassy case present in Riyadh. His instructions have been fully implemented and a high-level inquiry committee will oversee the matter.
Foreign ministers keep an eye on diplomatic missions themselves
The spokesman said that our ambassadors in Saudi Arabia have already returned to the country and orders have been issued to recall six more officials of the Embassy’s diplomatic, community welfare and consular wing. He said that any lapse in public service delivery will not be tolerated. The Foreign Minister himself is looking into matters related to our diplomatic missions. In particular, he has a keen eye on the facilities provided to the Pakistani community.
Imran can visit Saudi Arabia next month
Foreign Office spokesman said that the missions of Pakistan around the world have been instructed to provide maximum convenience to the Pakistani community in their respective region. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Retired Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar presented his credentials to the Chief Protocol Officer of the Foreign Ministry of Saudi Arabia on Thursday. At the same time, Pakistan Foreign Office said that Imran Khan can go on an official visit to Saudi Arabia in his month at the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
