Imran Khan on Afghanistan Violence: Pakistan is constantly being accused of spreading violence in Afghanistan and helping the Taliban. To which, Prime Minister Imran Khan has now reacted. He said during the Central-South Asia Conference in Uzbekistan that it is not right to blame Pakistan for whatever is happening in Afghanistan or what the Taliban is doing. Imran has said this at a time when the Vice President of Afghanistan had accused Pakistan of helping the Taliban a day earlier.
Afghanistan’s Vice President Amrullah Saleh has said that Pakistan’s Air Force is helping the Taliban in the air. He has also warned Afghan soldiers and security forces that Pakistan’s air will act against them if they try to remove the Taliban from the Spin Boldak area. The Spin Buldak Area Taliban is located in the Kandahar province of Afghanistan. Here the Taliban have captured the border post with Pakistan. He raised his flag here and removed the flag of Afghanistan.
Pakistan to host peace conference
On the other hand, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry said that Pakistan will host the Afghan peace conference. This conference will be held between 17-19 July (Pakistan on Afghanistan Issue). The spokesman said that he confirms that Pakistan will host it. Any speculation of postponing the conference is completely baseless. This conference will accelerate the efforts being made for peace in Afghanistan. Many Afghan leaders have agreed to join it. Those who have been invited do not include the Taliban.
Violence amid withdrawal of foreign troops
“I have been to Afghanistan several times and we have discussed in detail the Afghan peace process,” the spokesman said. The aim of the upcoming peace conference is to engage and consult with all stakeholders on the Afghan peace process. Foreign soldiers are withdrawing from Afghanistan after 20 years of war, which the Taliban considers their victory (Current Situation in Afghanistan). He intensified attacks in the country since Joe Biden’s announcement about the withdrawal of American troops. And now he is continuously increasing his possession while fighting with the security forces.
