In September 2015, the Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered the adoption of Urdu as the official language in all government departments.
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed that all his official programs be held in Urdu. The purpose of Imran Khan behind this order is to respect and promote the national language Urdu of Pakistan. In a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, it was said that it is the desire of the Prime Minister that from now on all programs / functions organized for the Prime Minister will be organized in the national language Urdu (Urdu).
It said that further necessary action to implement the above instructions of the Prime Minister would be taken accordingly by all concerned. Apart from this, the Prime Minister was quoted as saying that he is committed to promoting the national language and giving due respect.
In 2015, the Supreme Court had ruled
In September 2015, the Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered the adoption of Urdu as an official language in all government departments. A three-member bench of the apex court headed by the then Chief Justice Jawwad S Khawaja had delivered its verdict on the petitions seeking adoption of Urdu as the official language.
Calling for immediate implementation of Article 251, the top court had issued nine guidelines to make Urdu an official language. According to Article 251, the national language of Pakistan is Urdu and it shall be arranged within fifteen years from the date of its use for official and other purposes.
Major train accident in Pakistan
Let us tell you that a major train accident has happened in Pakistan on Monday. In which 50 people have died so far, while 70 people are said to be injured. This accident happened in Daharki of Sindh province. This place is located in the Ghotki district here. Here two passenger trains Millat Express (UP) and Sir Syed Express (DN) collided with each other. Army has also been called to the spot.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the rescue team reached the spot. After this relief and rescue work has been started. Officials say that right now they cannot tell how long it will take for the train service to resume. Other trains passing through here may be suspended.
