The FAS list has claimed that India has less than five nuclear bombs from Pakistan. Pakistan has 165 nuclear bombs while India has 160. According to the report, there has been a steady decline in the number of nuclear weapons after the Cold War. While their number was 70,300 in 1986, in 2021 it has come down to 13,100. But it is a matter of concern that military weapons are still being collected.
Russia leads the list
Russia is at number one in the case of nuclear bombs. According to the FAS list, Russia has a total of 6,257 nuclear bombs. Out of these 1600 bombs have been deployed while 4,497 bombs have been kept in reserve. Apart from this, 1700 bombs have been retired. Similarly, America has a total of 5,550 nuclear bombs. Out of these 1800 have been deployed, while 3800 have been kept in reserve. The remaining 1750 have been retired.
China at number three
China, which often creates tension on the border, is at number three in this list. He has 350 bombs. France (290) is at number four, Britain (195) at number five. After this comes the number of Pakistan, which has 165 atomic bombs. India has 160 bombs at number seven in the list. However, the institution has also raised doubts over the number of China’s nuclear bombs. According to the report, China may have secretly collected weapons. India is followed by Israel (90) and North Korea (40). According to this report, between 1985 and 1990, the largest number of nuclear bombs were made in the world. Apart from this, the number of atomic bombs has been decreasing in the last 30 years because Russia and America are constantly engaged in destroying their retired bombs.
