Iran has launched an Islamic Dating Application to encourage its youth to get married. Its purpose is to encourage the youth for a long lasting marriage. The name of this app is ‘Humdum’. Through the service present in the app, users can search for bibs for themselves. Government media has given this information. The launch of such an app by the government in a conservative country like Iran is itself a surprise. It is being said about this app that it will maintain family values.
According to Iran’s Cyberspace Police Chief Colonel Ali Mohammad Razabi, this is the only government-recognized app of this kind in the Islamic Republic. He told that other dating apps are also popular in the country, but except ‘Humdum’, the rest of the apps are considered illegal. This app has been prepared by the Tebian Cultural Institute working under the Islamic Propaganda Organization of Iran. Humdum’s website states that it uses artificial intelligence to help only bachelors to find a life partner.
App will help in building a healthy family
Tebian’s head Komil Khojasteh while launching the app said that family values are threatened by external dating apps. The family is targeted by Satan and the enemies of Iran try to impose their views on us. He said that this app will help in creating a healthy family. According to the website of Humdum, users will have to verify themselves first. At the same time, before browsing, you will have to go through a mental test. Registering on Humdum is free. It is worth noting that on many datetime apps, you have to pay a certain amount for registration.
Decreasing birth rate became Iran’s trouble
Several Iranian officials, including Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, have warned that the age of marriage is increasing in the country. Because of this the birth rate is falling. In March Iran’s conservative-dominated parliament passed a bill called ‘Population Growth and Supporting Families’. This was a bill to encourage the government to provide significant financial assistance for marriages. In addition, the bill limited access to abortion and encouraged people to have more than two children.
