The Health Ministry of Gaza said that 16 women and 10 children were also among those killed in the attack, while more than 50 people were injured.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the deadly bombing of the Gaza Strip would continue despite international outrage and attempts to stop the truce. In a television address on Sunday, Netanyahu said that the Israeli Air Strike will continue ‘fully’ and will last ‘a long time’. He said that his country ‘wants to charge a big price’ from the Hamas rulers of Gaza (Gaza).
Three buildings were destroyed and at least 42 people were killed in airstrikes by Israel on Gaza City on Sunday. This was the worst attack since the conflict between Israel and Hamas started a week ago. Gaza’s health ministry said 16 women and 10 children were also among those killed in the attack, while more than 50 people were injured. The ministry said that relief and rescue work is still going on.
Hamas intensified attacks
Earlier, the Israeli army said that it had set ablaze the residence of Gaza’s top Hamas leader Yahia Sinwar in a separate airstrike in the southern city of Khan Younis. This is the third attack in the last two days on the houses of senior Hamas leaders. At the same time, many Hamas leaders have gone underground in the wake of the attack. Israel has stepped up attacks in recent days to do maximum harm to Hamas. At the same time, international negotiators are also trying to mediate between the two sides, but targeting Hamas leaders can cause difficulties in these efforts.
Tensions in East Jerusalem began earlier this month when Palestinians protested against the expulsion of them at Sheikh Jarra and Israeli police cracked down at the al-Aqsa Mosque. The battle began last Monday when Hamas, claiming to have saved Jerusalem, fired long-range rockets.
188 Palestinians have lost their lives so far
The conflict has spread to other places as well. There have also been clashes between Jewish and Arab citizens in many places in the West Bank and Israel. In this conflict, 188 Palestinians, including 55 children and 33 women, have been killed and 1,230 people injured in Gaza. At the same time, ten people have died in Israel, including a child of five years.
The Israeli military said on Sunday that it targeted the house of the most senior Hamas leader, Yahia Sinwar, who was possibly hiding there along with the rest of the top leaders of the group. Israel on Saturday bombed the house of Khalil al-Hayeh, the leader of the political wing of Hamas. Hamas and the Islamic Jihad militant group have admitted that 20 of its fighters have been killed since the conflict began on Monday. An Egyptian diplomat said that the ceasefire efforts would be affected by targeting Hamas political leaders.
