Nepal Reports First Death of Black Fungus: The first death due to mucormycosis (black fungus) has been recorded in the neighboring country of Nepal. The person who died of this disease was 65 years old. This death took place in the ICU of a hospital located in the western part of the country. On Thursday, Seti Provincial Hospital issued a statement saying, ‘He died on June 3, 2021. The nose sample of the deceased was taken, in which fungal was detected (Black Fungus Infection in Hindi). Examination of his throat and lips confirmed mucormycosis. Although this person was not infected with the corona virus. Mucormycosis is a fatal disease, which has also been considered quite rare.
Death rate is 50 percent
To save the life of a person from this disease, many times his eyes, nose or jaw have to be removed. In recent weeks, this disease has happened to thousands of people in India. Here people recovering from the corona virus are being found infected with it. COVID cases increased in Nepal
