A mom who abused her little one so badly he needed to have his legs amputated could also be stored in jail for longer.
Parents Jody Simpson and Anthony Smith have been each jailed for 10 years in 2018 for torturing their son, Tony Hudgell, who’s now seven.
Tony’s case led to public outcry and requires little one abusers to be given life behind bars.
Simpson was resulting from be launched on licence on the midway level of her jail sentence on Friday, however Justice Secretary Dominic Raab has referred her case to the Parole Board.
Tony’s new mom, Paula Hudgell, stated she felt “over the moon” with the potential change to Simpson’s sentence, and stated it exhibits “how much Tony has touched everyone’s hearts”.
She stated: “I’m over the moon and really feel fairly overwhelmed.
“It simply makes you admire the severity of the case and the way a lot Tony has touched everybody’s hearts.
“I didn’t expect it. I was almost waiting for her to be released.
“Tony suffers each single day, and their sentence would not mirror the severity of the crime.”

Mr Raab said Tony endured “a horrific and systematic marketing campaign of abuse from his delivery mother and father” and said he is “responsibility sure” to do everything possible to prevent another child suffering at their hands.
He added: “So I’ve referred the case of Jody Simpson to the Parole Board, below new powers designed to maintain prisoners incarcerated for longer when their launch would put public security in danger.”
Tougher sentencing for child abusers came into force in June, meaning anyone who causes or allows the death of a child or vulnerable adult in their household can now be given up to life in prison – increased from the previous 14-year maximum.
The sentencing changes are known as “Tony’s Law”, following campaigning by the teen’s adoptive household.
Tony was 41 days outdated when he was assaulted by his delivery mother and father, an assault which brought about a number of fractures, dislocations and blunt trauma to the face, resulting in organ failure, poisonous shock and sepsis.
He was left untreated and in agony for 10 days, and the harm meant each his legs needed to be amputated.
