Mexico Third Covid Wave: The outbreak of the third wave of corona virus infection has started in Mexico and during this time the cases of infection have increased by 29 percent compared to the previous week. The country’s health department said on Friday that more cases of infection are being reported among young people (Covid 19 Situation in Mexico). The cases of infection are equal to the increased cases in September last year. The virus wave was at its peak in January and had decreased by June.
Currently, 22 percent of the beds in the country’s hospitals are full, whereas during the last wave, most parts of the country were full. Hugo López Gatel, Additional Secretary of the Department of Health, said that the increase in infection cases was not due to the delta nature but due to the increased activities of the people (Mexico Third Wave Covid). Officials say that the rate of severe cases among the elderly has come down, the reason behind which is the vaccination campaign in the country.
Wave may be at peak in August
As of Friday, at least 39 percent of adults have received a single dose of the vaccine. Health officials in Mexico City said that according to them, the peak (Covid-19 in Mexico) could come by August, which would be more deadly than the other two waves of COVID. Corona virus has caused 235,000 deaths in Mexico. But it is being said that there was less investigation of COVID in the country, due to which the death toll could be around 360,000.
Oxygen crisis in Indonesia
At the same time, the devastating wave of corona virus infection in Indonesia has created an oxygen crisis in the country and the government there is soliciting supplies from other countries including Singapore and China. Until just two months ago, the Southeast Asian nation was helping oxygen-starved India by donating thousands of tankers to it. Indonesia’s minister in charge of global pandemic action, Luhut Binsap Pandjaitan, said a consignment of more than 1,000 oxygen cylinders, concentrators, ventilators and other health equipment arrived from Singapore on Friday. After this 1,000 ventilators from Australia also arrived here.
