Mehul Choksi Accuses Indian Agencies: On his return to Antigua from Dominica, fugitive diamond merchant Mehul Choksi has released an audio tape, in which he has made serious allegations against Indian agencies. He has accused the agencies of his kidnapping. Also said, ‘I have returned home (Mehul Choksi Antigua). But this torture has left lasting marks on my soul both mentally and physically. Choksi suddenly went missing from Antigua on May 25, then was later arrested by Dominica authorities for illegally entering the country.
Choksi, however, said that she was tortured after being kidnapped and forcibly brought to Dominica (Choksi in Dominica). Mehul Choksi said, ‘I could never have imagined that after closing all my business and confiscating all my assets, Indian agencies would try to kidnap me. I always used to hear about this but never believed that he could go to this extent. That too when I am exercising my rights legally here in Antigua.
Concerned about security in India
Mehul Choksi also denied the allegation of Indian agencies not cooperating in the investigation and said that he was always present for questioning. Choksi claimed that he was “seriously” considering returning to India to “prove his innocence” but is now scared about security.
Alleged fraud of thousands of crores
He further said, ‘I am contemplating to return to India to prove my innocence, my health is very bad and has worsened in the last 50 days after my kidnapping (Mehul Choksi PNB Scam). I am extremely apprehensive about my security in India. It is quite inhuman and now I don’t know whether I will be able to come back with normal mental or physical condition. Mehul Choksi and his nephew Nirav Modi are accused of defrauding Punjab National Bank to the tune of Rs 13,500 crore.
