A person who fell from a window – resulting in the arrest of Humza Yousaf’s brother-in-law and two others – has died in hospital.
The 36-year-old man was significantly injured after falling from a block of flats in Morgan Street, Dundee, on 10 January.
Ramsay El-Nakla, 36, Stephen Stewart, 50, and Victoria McGowan, 41, had been arrested in reference to the incident on Monday and subsequently launched.
El-Nakla is the brother of first minister Mr Yousaf’s spouse, Dundee councillor Nadia El-Nakla.
In an replace on Thursday, Police Scotland stated the person who fell has since died.
A power spokesperson stated: “Around 8.20am on Wednesday 10 January 2024, we received a report a man had fallen from a block of flats in the Morgan Street area of Dundee.
“A 36-year-old man was taken to Ninewells Hospital for remedy to severe accidents, the place he died on Wednesday 17 January.”
The force said the death is being treated as “unexplained” as an investigation to establish the full circumstances continues.
The spokesperson added: “Two males, aged 50 and 36, and a 41-year-old girl had been arrested on Monday 15 January in reference to the incident and later launched pending additional enquiries.”

El-Nakla, Stewart, and McGowan had earlier appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday for a separate matter – as they had been accused of worrying within the provide of heroin, and possessing cocaine and hashish.
The trio had been charged with the alleged drug offences following a report of a break-in within the metropolis’s Balmoral Gardens on 11 January.
All three made no plea throughout their look within the dock and had been granted bail.
