Global tender released
Earlier last week, there was news that Pakistan has issued a global tender to buy 50,000 tonnes of sugar. However, this import is not for India because Pakistan has put it in the list of banned countries (Sugar Prices in Pakistan). This decision of the Government of Pakistan has been misunderstood by the domestic Chinese businessmen of the same place. In order to curb the high sugar prices in Pakistan, tenders were issued two more times in the past. These last two tenders were canceled due to higher bids.
Sugar price reached 100 rupees
In Pakistan, the price of sugar has reached 100 rupees per kg because there has been a significant decrease in the production of sugar there. Apart from this, due to the prohibition of imports from India, Pakistan is also facing trouble due to sugar (Pakistan Sugar Price). About two weeks ago, after Pakistan’s Economic Coordination Committee approved, it was expected that trade with India on sugar and kamas could be opened. But then the country’s federal cabinet withdrew its decision. After which Pakistan had issued a new tender and said that sugar should not be made from any banned country.
