Suffolk native radio DJ Tim Gough has died whereas presenting his present.
GenX Radio Suffolk tweeted on Monday: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I’ve to tell you, our expensive pal and breakfast host Tim Gough handed away this morning while presenting his programme.
“Our love to his family, son, sister, brother and mum. Tim was doing what he loved. He was 55 years old. RIP buddy. x.”
Mr Gough is known to have been broadcasting from a studio at his house when he died.
Fellow GenX presenter Mark Eley was amongst these paying tribute.
He stated the station was in shock and that he’d learnt “so much from Tim” and that he had “huge” expertise and fervour for radio.
Reply on social media, Nigel Mayes tweeted: “I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Tim for a good few years, I can only echo what so many are saying, what a lovely man. He’ll be missed by many. Condolences to Tim’s family xx.”
“Tim was one of the kindest people I knew,” posted Jason King.
“A real privilege to have called him a good friend for over twenty years. Thoughts with Isaac and family, gone way too soon.”
Replying on the station’s Facebook web page, David Ok Game stated: “Local radio legend from back in my days of listening to him on Orwell and Saxon. Deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.”
Mr Gough had labored in radio for over 25 years and was born and grew up in Suffolk.
He beforehand labored on different stations within the county, in addition to Smooth Radio and stations within the East Midlands.
