Broadcaster Kate Garraway says her husband’s well being is starting to enhance after it took a “frightening turn for the worse” which noticed him “fighting for his life”.
Former political adviser Derek Draper, 54, grew to become significantly in poor health with coronavirus in March 2020, struggling lasting injury to his organs and requiring each day care.
In an replace on social media, Garraway, 55, defined her current three-week absence from TV and radio.
“Derek’s health took an unexpected and frightening turn for the worse that landed him back in intensive care and fighting for his life – again,” she wrote.
But due to the “amazing NHS teams and his own extraordinary life force and spirit, Derek – please, thank God – is back on the right side of it”, she added.
Garraway mentioned she was trying ahead to being again on air and “hopefully celebrating” a win for the Lionesses in Euro 2022.
She thanked folks, too, for “all your messages of support”, saying they “really do mean the world to me and the whole family”.
Garraway and Draper married in 2005 and have two youngsters, Darcey and Billy.
Last 12 months, she received a prize on the National Television Awards for the documentary Finding Derek, about her household’s traumatic expertise of the pandemic.
Earlier this 12 months, Garraway mentioned she was discovering a “new way to be in love” along with her husband as he recovered from lengthy COVID.

She advised the Mail On Sunday’s You journal: “I’m not sure that we’ve ever fallen out of love, but I think a new path is emerging, a new way to be in love.
“He places big belief in me. He simply says, ‘Whatever you assume,’ which is fantastic, however I do get fairly tearful about it. I feel, ‘God, I hope I’m worthy of that belief.’
“But I’ve got his back. That is a relationship in itself, isn’t it?”
