A journalist in Pakistan was attacked by some unknown assailants outside his house in the capital Islamabad. This journalist is identified as a person criticizing the Pakistani armed forces. In this way, once in the country, the media persons have had to suffer the attack. Due to the failures of Imran Khan’s government, the minority community in Pakistan is already on target. At the same time, in recent times, journalists who criticize the government and the military have been targeted.
According to police, Asad Ali Toor was tied up and badly beaten up outside his residence in the upscale F-10 sector late Tuesday. Toor is also a YouTuber. In one video, it can be seen that three people are beating the Toor badly and are exiting the apartment building after executing the attack. On the other hand, Toor is trying to handle himself. In another video, Toor is seen going to the hospital with a blood-soaked shirt. However, in this, he seems out of danger.
Information about the attack was received after Eid
Asad Ali Tur told the incident in a video clip that the attackers asked him the source of their earnings. Toor released another video stating that he was receiving threats. A well-wisher had told him that he might be attacked after Eid. At the same time, a case was also registered against the Armed Forces critic Toor last year. But the Lahore High Court later freed him from the charges.
Attack on journalists in the past
So far no one has claimed responsibility for the attack on Toor. This attack took place at a time when journalist Absar Alam was shot and injured a month ago. He was walking in a park near his house in the capital. During this time he was attacked. At the same time, in July last year, journalist Matiullah Jaan was abducted from Islamabad and tortured for hours at an undisclosed location. After this, he was left near a deserted road so that he could go to his house in battered conditions.
No arrests have been made in any case so far
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary took cognizance of the incident and ordered the Islamabad Police Chief to investigate the matter. However, so far no accused has been detected in all the attacks, although the faces of the attackers and kidnappers are visible in the video. Journalists and human rights activists have long been targeted by fundamentalists in Pakistan. Imran Khan’s government has failed to stop these attacks.
