Former SNP Westminster chief Ian Blackford has endorsed Humza Yousaf within the race to grow to be Scotland’s subsequent first minister.

Several main SNP figures have already backed Mr Yousaf, together with Scottish Social Justice Secretary Shona Robison, Education Secretary Shirley-Anne Somerville and SNP Westminster deputy chief Mhairi Black.
However, a Panelbase ballot for The Sunday Times put Ms Forbes within the lead, with 23% of these questioned saying they wished her to take the highest job forward of 15% for Mr Yousaf and seven% for Ms Regan.
