Israel launched a missile attack in the Syrian capital Damascus and the southern suburbs in the early hours of Thursday. Four soldiers were injured in this missile attack. Syrian government media has given information about this. Government media Sana quoted an unidentified military official as saying that Syrian air defenses shot down several missiles before targeting their targets.
News agency Sana said that these missiles were fired from Israeli warplanes. These aircraft were flying over the neighboring country of Lebanon. Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Israel targeted military posts near Damascus with missiles. However, it did not provide more information than this. Let us tell you that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitors war crimes in Syria.
Israel has been targeting Iranian bases in Syria
Al-Manar TV of Lebanon’s militant group Hezbollah said that one of the missiles of the Syrian Air Defense exploded near the Lebanon-Syria border. The sound of this explosion was heard in parts of southern Lebanon. It further said that the missile crashed near the Lebanese border village of Haula. Israel has carried out hundreds of attacks in Syria against Iran-based military bases over the years, but rarely has such an operation been discussed or admitted to have been attacked.
Israel considers Iran’s activities in Syria as a threat
Israel sees Iranian activities on its Northern Frontier as a threat. It has consistently targeted military bases and arms squads related to Iran with missiles. Israel is always afraid that these weapons and posts can be used by Hezbollah. Significantly, Lebanon’s Hezbollah has been consistently supported by Iran. However, some countries, including Israel, consider it a terrorist organization.
