Iran Wants its Citizens to Release From US: Iran has said on Tuesday that it has demanded that all its citizens in the US jail be released in the midst of the resultant negotiations in Vienna. The purpose of the Vienna talks is to re-join the US in the agreement that took place between Iran and the world’s great superpowers in the year 2015 (Iran Nuclear Talks). Cabinet spokesman Ali Rabi said that there could be exchange of prisoners between Iran and America. He said, ‘Swapping of prisoners has always been the agenda. They should be released under ‘human concerns’.
In this regard, Rabi did not provide information about how many Iranians are lodged in US jails and claimed that they could be harmed by the release of their (prisoners) names. However, he said this much, “The number of Iranian prisoners is more than the number of American citizens imprisoned in the US Nationals in Iran Jails”. In 2019, Iran released a Chinese-American scholar from Princeton. Who was kept in jail for three years under espionage charges.

Tehran said at that time that American officials have kept 20 Iranian citizens in jail. Iran has many times asked the US to exchange prisoners with Prisoner Exchange in Iran. Khitibzadeh said that under the ongoing negotiations in Vienna, Tehran is hoping to exchange prisoners. Iran’s media has identified seven such prisoners who are in US custody in the past.
