India has discovered uranium near the border of China in Arunachal Pradesh. This news has stung the Global Times called the mouthpiece of the Chinese government. The newspaper says that this behavior of India is harmful for the India-China Border Talks. Not only this, the Global Times has also targeted Indian media to praise this discovery of India. Let it be said that China continues to claim Arunachal Pradesh.
The Chinese newspaper, citing a report of the Times of India in its report, wrote that uranium is being discovered in Arunachal Pradesh on behalf of India. In this report, quoting DK Sinha, director of the Atomic Minerals Directorate of India, it has been told that there are signs of uranium in this area, hence the search is being done here.
Fictitious claims of China
The Global Times report notes that China never recognized the region as ‘Arunachal Pradesh’. According to the report, India claims its territory while China sees it as the southern part of Tibet. The report claimed that ‘Arunachal Pradesh’ was formed in the last century, which was constructed ‘illegally’. Its construction also includes part of 90,000 square kilometers of China.
Demand to take action from China
The Global Times quoted Ji Chao, assistant professor of ‘Indian Studies’ at Tohua University, as saying that India has to ‘claim’ its claim on this area more wrong than the claim of uranium being present in the region. Chao did not stop here, he demanded from China that action should be taken against India.
The Chinese newspaper believes that the Indian claim of uranium presence in Arunachal Pradesh will damage the border talks between the two countries. The report described it as a one-sided action which was ‘abetting’. Explain that India’s stand on Arunachal Pradesh is clear. India considers Arunachal Pradesh its ‘integral part’.
