Meanwhile, former Sri Lankan cricket team captain Sanath Jayasuriya has expressed concern about the condition of his country. At the same time, the former cricketer has supported the people raising their voice against the government regarding the ongoing serious economic crisis in Sri Lanka.
This former Sri Lankan cricketer (Sanath Jayasuriya) has called India as his elder brother. He said that, as a neighbor and elder brother of our country, India has always helped us. We are grateful to the Government of India and PM Modi for helping us in this economic crisis. For us, it is not easy to survive because of the current scenario. We hope that, soon with the help of India and other countries, we will come out of this situation.

Recently, while talking to ANI, Jayasuriya has given his reaction about the situation in the country. He said, ‘It is quite unfortunate that people are going through this dire situation. He cannot survive like this. Because of this people have started opposing the government. From food to drink, there is a shortage of gas in the country and there is no electricity supply for hours.
He further said that, now the general public has started protesting against the Sri Lankan government after getting upset. People are showing their condition to the government. At the same time, if the current government does not do anything soon, it will turn into a disaster. He said that at present this responsibility rests with the government.

The former cricketer said that the people of Sri Lanka are facing difficulty in getting the essential items of everyday use. The economic crisis in the country has increased significantly. There are long lines of 3-4 km for diesel, gas and milk powder. This is really sad.
