In the United Nations, India said that some countries are clearly guilty of supporting terrorism and harboring terrorists. His gesture was towards Pakistan.
TS Tirumurti, Permanent Representative of India to the UN
India has once again attacked Pakistan in the United Nations without naming it. Along with this, information about his activities has been given to the world. India said in the UN that it has been a victim of cross border terrorism especially for the last several decades. It said that there are some countries which are clearly guilty of supporting terrorist activities and harboring terrorists. India may not have said clearly, but it was pointing towards Pakistan.
India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador TS Tirumurti said during the second counter-terrorism week at a high-level online event titled ‘Tackling the Financing of Terrorism in the Post-COVID-19 Scenario’. Blocking the access of terrorists to economic resources is crucial for a successful deal. Tirumurti said on Friday, India has been a victim of terrorism for the last several decades. He has been a victim of terrorism especially from across the border.
International fraternity should name the perpetrators of terror: India
The Permanent Representative of India said that there are some countries which lack the necessary capabilities and legal-operational frameworks to prevent funding of terrorism, while there are other countries which support terrorism and willingly support terrorists. They are clearly guilty of providing financial support and shelter. We must definitely enhance the capabilities of disabled countries, he said. At the same time, the international community should collectively name the culprits clearly and hold them accountable. These comments seem to be clearly pointing towards Pakistan.
Pakistan is on the gray list of FATF
Tirumurti stressed the need for international cooperation against terrorism financing, strengthening the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and providing more funding to the UN counter-terrorism framework. India organized the event in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of France, the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime, the United Nations Office on Counter-Terrorism and the Executive Directorate of the Security Council’s Counter-Terrorism Committee. Significantly, Pakistan has once again been kept in the gray list of FATF.
