In Pakistan, where the cases of Coronavirus are increasing rapidly, but Prime Minister Imran Khan is not getting free time from holding election rallies. In a rally organized for the elections to be held in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Imran threw the dice of a referendum to get the votes of the people. Imran Khan on Friday promised the people of PoK that his government will hold a referendum in which they (people living in PoK) can choose to join Pakistan or become an independent state.
However, Imran rejected the idea of making PoK a province of Pakistan. While addressing an election rally at Tarar Khal in Sudhanhoti district of PoK, Imran Khan said, ‘I don’t know from where the talk of making PoK a province has come. However, what I want to clarify now is that in 1948 there were two UN Security Council resolutions, in which the people of Kashmir were given the right to decide their future. According to the UN resolution, people had to decide whether they wanted to join India or Pakistan.
Imran is dreaming of holding two referendums
While addressing the rally, Imran said, ‘I want to clarify to all of you today. Inshallah, a day will come when the sacrifices made by the people of Kashmir will not go in vain. The one above will give you that right. There will be a plebiscite, Inshallah. He expressed confidence that people would like to live with Pakistan that day. The Pakistani PM did not stop by saying that rather he said that after the UN referendum. His government will hold another plebiscite, where the people of Kashmir will be given the option of either staying with Pakistan or becoming an independent state.
PoK elections to be held on Sunday
Imran Khan said that the freedom struggle of Kashmiris started more than 100 years before Partition, when people repeatedly stood against the Dogra government. The Dogra family was a dynasty of Hindu Rajputs who ruled Jammu and Kashmir from 1846 to 1947. Let us tell you that the assembly elections are to be held in PoK on Sunday. Even before this, the opposition parties of Pakistan have accused the election of rigging. Responding to this, Imran Khan said that there is already a discussion that there will be rigging in the elections. He said that when we used to play cricket, the host countries had their own umpire. At that time the teams which feared defeat against a powerful team were already making noise of losing the match due to the umpire of the other country.
