The government of Imran Khan has fixed the price of Coronavirus Vaccine for the general public. There is also a rapid increase in cases of corona infection in the country. Sources have said that the price of the vaccine imported from Russia and China has been fixed. The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan last week issued a notice to process the procedure for fixing the maximum retail price of imported COVID-19 vaccine in the country.
According to official sources, the two retail doses of the Russian vaccine ‘Sputnik V’ have a maximum retail price of Rs 8,449. At the same time, an injection of the Chinese vaccine ‘Convidasia’ vaccine will cost Rs 4,225. In such a situation, the question is arising whether the people of Pakistan will be able to buy it or not. COVID-19 vaccination is still going on in Pakistan through Adult Immunization Centers (AVC). The process of procurement of vaccines by the government is very slow. It relies largely on donations to apply vaccines to vulnerable people affected by the epidemic.
Corona cases are increasing rapidly in Pakistan
In Pakistan, with a population of 22 crores, private companies were approved to import the vaccine last month. Also, they were given a discount in fixing the price. The step of fixing the vaccine prices has been taken at a time when there are increasing cases of infection in the country. There have been 3,669 new cases of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours in Pakistan. With this, the total number of people found infected so far has increased to 630,471.
The third wave of Corona continues to wreak havoc
According to the Ministry of National Health Service, after the death of 20 more patients due to coronavirus infection, the total number of dead has increased to 13,863. The country’s Education Minister Shafaqat Mahmood tweeted on Sunday night that the Education and Health Minister will hold a meeting on March 24 to take a decision on opening or further closure of educational institutions in the country. He said that the third wave of Corona is going on in the country right now. In this case, careful measures need to be taken. Earlier, educational institutes were closed for two weeks in some cities due to an increase in the number of coronavirus cases.
