Imran Khan and Qamar Javed Bajwa are preparing to bring terrorist groups into mainstream politics to avoid FATF.
Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan
Pakistan has been placed in the Gray List of FATF. In such a situation, instead of stopping its ‘terrorist activities’, the neighboring country is playing new tricks. This is the reason why Pakistan is now preparing to bring its most radical religious terrorist organization into the mainstream of politics. Not only this, the opposition is also criticizing Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan for his inability to take the country out of the gray list.
Pakistan has been kept in the gray list even after meeting 26 out of 27 points for terrorist financing of FATF. In this way, once again his hopes of getting out of this list have got a setback. Pakistan has not taken any concrete steps in the investigation of terror financing and against the terrorists designated by the United Nations. For this reason, it has been once again placed in the gray list (Pakistan on FATF Gray List).
Plan to bring religious fundamentalist groups into politics
At the same time, now Imran Khan and Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa are constantly looking for a way to get the country out of this situation, so that FATF can be satisfied. Government sources said that the Imran government has now accepted the idea of including religious fundamentalist groups in mainstream politics. Imran Khan’s government was first advised to do so by the country’s intelligence agency ISI.
Preparations to bring Hafiz Saeed’s Milli Muslim League into politics
Not only this, in 2017 the Jamaat-ud-Dawa faction of terrorist Hafiz Saeed formed the Milli Muslim League. However, this faction did not get much response from the public. At the same time, the Milli Muslim League is facing trouble in getting its registration done with the Pakistan Election Commission. The faction was also banned from participating in the 2018 general elections. It is believed that Imran can bring it into the mainstream.
The Milli Muslim League was formed without abandoning the terrorist ideology of Jamaat-ud-Dawa. Nazrul Islam, an analyst, said the integration of terrorist groups should not be seen as a step but as a process. Efforts should be made to release the extremist ideology of terrorist religious groups before they are included in mainstream politics. As of now, this process has not started yet.
