Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced plans to reopen the country’s economy after lockdown. All people have been requested to undergo coronavirus test twice every week. Under the new scheme, free test kits will be provided through the local drug store, community center and home delivery service. Explain that Britain is badly affected by Coronavirus. However, the pace of infection has decreased in recent times.
Most of the adult population in the country has been vaccinated. The government believes that the epidemic can be controlled by rapidly testing the entire population and through the COVID status certification system. PM Johnson is going to give information about this new scheme on Monday. Britain has the highest number of deaths from Corona across Europe. Apart from this, the country is facing the worst economic recession in 300 years. The pace of vaccination in Britain is also very fast compared to Europe. So far, 3.15 crore people have been given at least one vaccine dose.
What is in PM Johnson’s plan?
- International travel will be resumed. It is believed that from May 17, international flights will start again. A ‘traffic light’ system has been created for this. Under this system, other countries of the world have been classified according to Corona according to Red, Yellow and Green.
- Citizens from Green countries will not have to remain in isolation in Britain. But before starting the journey and reaching Britain, they will have to undergo a corona test. The quarantine and isolation rules will be applicable to citizens coming from Red and Yellow countries.
- In the coming months, the COVID Status Certification System (Corona Passport) will be prepared. Under this, people who have this passport will be allowed to attend sports events, nightclubs and theaters.
- Before joining football matches and other sports events, the COVID certificate of the people, whether it is paper based or in the smartphone app, will be checked. After this, they will be allowed to join the program. It will not be needed for pubs, shops and restaurants.
- A review will be done on social distancing and it will be considered whether people can be exempted from it due to COVID passport or not.
What did the British PM say?
In a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Johnson said, “A large number of steps have been taken by the British public to prevent the spread of the virus.” As we can see that we are making great progress in the vaccine program and through the roadmap, the restrictions are being relaxed with caution. In such a situation, regular rapid testing is needed even more so that our efforts do not go in vain.
