Herat province of Afghanistan was shaken by a car explosion. Eight people died in this attack and 47 people were badly injured. Officials gave information about this on Saturday. Provincial Hospital spokesperson Rafiq Sheraji said that 14 houses were also badly damaged in the blast that took place late on Friday night. At the same time, the condition of some of the injured people is critical, in which case the number of dead is likely to increase.
The country’s Interior Ministry spokesman, Tariq Arian, said that one of the dead was 11 Afghan security forces personnel in the injured, while the rest were ordinary citizens. Women and children were also included in the casualties. However, so far no terrorist organization has taken responsibility for this attack. But in recent times, due to many incidents being carried out by the extremist terrorist organization Islamic State, this time also the needle of suspicion is on the same side.
Security Council condemned the attack
In a press briefing in New York just hours after this terrorist attack, the UN Security Council condemned the dangerous increase in attacks in Afghanistan. These attacks are taking place at a time when talks between the Taliban and the Afghan government are taking place in Qatar and then being halted. The council said these heinous attacks are targeting civil servants, judiciary, media, health care and humanitarian workers. There are attacks on people who protect human rights and ethnic and religious minorities.
America is reviewing a peace agreement with the Taliban
Islamic State has taken responsibility for many terrorist attacks in recent times. At the same time, the Taliban and the Afghan government have accused each other of creating a hurdle in the way of negotiations. The slow pace of negotiations and the escalating violence have prompted the United States to join the peace proposal. Let us know that amidst all this, the US administration is reviewing the peace agreement made with the Taliban during the tenure of the Trump government. Under this, the US has to evacuate 2500 soldiers from Afghanistan by May 1.
