Great Train Robbery: Sometimes criminals also prove to be so clever that it becomes difficult to forget them for years. One such robbery took place in London. This robbery became so popular that the news reached not only Britain but also other countries. Even after 58 years have passed, there are many such unresolved questions, whose answers have not been found till now. On August 8, 1963 i.e. on this day, 16 vicious robbers carried out train robbery in broad daylight. This robbery took place with the help of only an iron rod without any gun.
The robbers stopped a train going from Glasgow to London midway and took away 2.6 million pounds early in the morning. The value of this amount as of today is about 55 million pounds i.e. 568 crore rupees. Even after so many years of robbery, the police has not been able to recover this money till date. A gang of 16 people led by a robber named Bruce Reynolds carried out this famous robbery.
Amazing plan made in a month

Together, all three made a foolproof plan in a month. But he had never robbed a train before. Therefore, three people who were expert in robbing the train were involved. A man named Roger Cordray was made part of the plan, who was an expert in stopping the train due to a technical fault in the signal. Altogether a gang of 16 people was formed. There were 17 people in total.
128 boxes full of notes disappeared
On August 8, at 3 in the morning, the robbers broke the signal and stopped the train on the way and boarded it. He injured the driver by hitting him on the head. After this, after making a human chain, in just 15-20 minutes, one after the other, the boxes filled with 128 notes were unloaded from the train and filled in the truck and escaped. Most of the notes were of 1 and 5 pounds. This money was distributed equally among all the 17 people. However, due to the mistake of the train staff, they all got caught by the police one by one.

Some members of the gang were killed or died. But 11 people were found guilty by the court. Of these, 7 people were sentenced to 30 years in prison. Two were sentenced to 25 years, one to 24, one to 20 and one to three years. All the members of this gang are now dead. Despite this, the police could not recover all the looted money till date.
