The four-year-old woman who was killed by a canine in a Milton Keynes again backyard has been named as Alice Stones.
Police had been known as to a home within the Broadlands space at about 5pm on Tuesday, however Alice died on the scene shortly after.
The canine was put down and nobody else was damage. There have been no arrests.
Police Superintendent Matt Bullivant known as it an “absolutely tragic incident” and mentioned folks mustn’t speculate concerning the circumstances.
Neighbour Rita Matthews, 36, mentioned she would usually see Alice whereas strolling her personal daughter to highschool.
“She was always holding her mummy’s hand on the way back,” she mentioned.
“It’s so sad we’re not going to see the girl again and I pray all the best to her mum to get her strength back.”
She mentioned Alice was a “happy little girl, very happy”.
“She would say ‘Bye, auntie’, and I would say ‘Bye, little girl’,” mentioned Ms Matthews.
Police confirmed the canine had been humanely put down “to ensure public safety”.
The end-of-terrace home was nonetheless cordoned off on Wednesday, with a forensic tent by the backyard and officers on the road.
During Prime Minister’s Questions, Rishi Sunak despatched his condolences to Alice’s household and the group.
Donna Fuller, a ward councillor for Woughton Community Council, mentioned a vigil could be held this night.
